Four surface treatments prevent fastener corrosion
Fasteners are the most common parts of mechanical equipment and play a vital role. However, corrosion is the most common damage in the use of fasteners. In order to prevent corrosion in the use of fasteners, many manufacturers will carry out surface treatment after the production of fasteners ?
There are four main surface treatments to prevent corrosion of fasteners:
- Electroplating of standard parts, this method is to put the standard parts into the metal solution, and then through the current to make the surface of the standard parts covered with a layer of metal, for this layer of metal has many functions, for example, we can choose some different coating metal according to some different functions, if we want to prevent the standard parts rust, then we can on the surface plating of standard parts Zinc.
- Heat treatment of the surface of standard parts. Some standard parts, such as the drill tail screws, need a relatively hard surface, so heat treatment of the drill tail screws can be carried out to ensure that the drill tail screws have enough hardness. That’s the reason for the heat treatment.
- Mechanical plating of standard parts, is to let metal particles for standard parts cold welding, to ensure that some of the surface of the standard parts. Mechanical plating and electroplating are basically similar, but the method is not the same, the result can be said to be the same.
- For the surface passivation of standard parts, passivation has two main functions, one is to strengthen the hardness of standard parts, and the other is to greatly reduce the oxidation of standard parts.
In the process of surface treatment of fasteners, the most appropriate method can be selected based on the specific situation. In this way fasteners can play a better role in the use process.
